Ballot Security

Thanks to Jack's efforts, the entire ballot system, including voting machines, is protected by an encrypted private network (not broadcast over the internet). Kane's certified voting machines have a paper trail to account for all ballots cast. Kane County partners with state/federal cybersecurity agencies to test for vulnerability.

Election Transparency

Over the last 4 years, Jack has opened a satellite office in Aurora and addressed one of the most contentious issues in elections, the counting of ballots. Jack's office scanned 80,000 Vote by Mail (VBM) ballots for public review, and Jack installed cameras in the VBM processing room, with each focused on a particular step of the process so that poll watchers and the public can observe the process. He wants to expand on that transparency.

As Jack has said many times, his goal is to "Make it easier to vote, and harder to cheat."
